6/11/2008 - Out with the old and in with the new.

Life's definitely all about change. Our bass player, Joel, that we've had for the last 2 years, is moving out west. Joel.. if you're reading this, buddy, we'll miss you greatly and it's been fun! We hope the best for you, bro.

Phil has stepped up to play bass and it's nice to have him. We have been able to find a guy to pick up right where Joel left off and it's rare to have that kind of transition. Welcome to the band, man!

Also in the vein of new, we've got about 8 new covers for the show Red, Rock n' Blue, July 3rd. We're losing a few songs in our lineup to make room, but we think it will only make the set better.

So, that's that... looking forward to seeing you guys July 3rd for the Red, Rock n' Blue Show in Lake Mary. It's a free show with food and drinks available for purchase from local vendors. It runs 6:30p-10:00p with Pop Shop doing some entertaining at the beginning of the event and then us playing 3 sets throughout the rest of the night. Hope to see you all there!

4/25/2008 - New show in the lineup and "yay" Tijuana Flats!

Come out Saturday, May 10th, 6-9p for a show at Central Park (Corner of Lake Mary Blvd & 4th Street) in Lake Mary that we're doing with the city.

We'll be doing some covers - everything from Loverboy to John Mayer - and some originals.

Some other news.. We'll be on the Tijuana Flats website for the entire month of May as part of the "Rock Out With Your Guac Out" music contest for 2008. It's really cool to have their support for local music! Go get a chimichanga, flauta or sangria from them to thank them. :)

Posted below are some of my latest dabblings with recording, engineering and the like. Think of that as my hobby blog.

9/18/2007 -
A New song idea...

Freaky 2Nite (yeah it's funny)

6/10/2007 - My dangerous addiction:

I've gotten big into recording again... just purchased an RME Fireface 800 and Digimax FS.. add this to my Digimax LT and I've got 28 channels of live audio into Cubase SX3!!! breathe BREATHE.. wipe druel. OK OK... back to the reason I'm posting...

Here are 2 samples from playing in church Sunday, June 10 2007.

Revive Us Again (MP3 192k)

Beautiful One (MP3 192k)

I was asked to post this recently:

Drum OH Solo of just the Cascade Ribbon Mics

Tech stuff: This was a live performance... Inputs were
Drums: cascade fatheads as overheads
, Blue Mouse as snare top, Shure SM57 as snare bottom and tom mics, Shure Beta 52 as Kick mic. Vocals: Sennheiser wireless Evolution 100 series (I think?). Guitar: was a LINE6 stereo amp going direct in. Keyboard: Korg Karma going direct in stereo. Percussion: SM58 and SM57 mics. Bass: rerecorded after performace (only thing changed from original) - Fender Precision Bass through Grace Model 101 and compressed slightly.

This live performance was going into a Carvin SL40 board, which I pulled Direct Outs off of. Most of the drums are actually processed already in the live setting, so can't tell you what those preamps do by themselves yet.. I wasn't sweating it for a live dealio anyway... The Cascade Fathead ribbon mics are actually going off the Digimax FS into the adat on the RME FF800. They shound sheen.. oh yesh. Very happy there.. The Keys, Guitars, percussion, were all coming in the Digimax preamps.

Everything was mixed today with Cubase SX3 and 4 corona lights.

Cheers...
